Exquisite Gabriele Mucchi ‘Genni’ chaise longue designed in 1935 by Gabriele Mucchi for Zanotta. This is an early piece, numbered and with the original cushions and headrest and number. The frame is made from Chromed tubular steel whereas the armrests are covered in leather also. Very elegant and comfortable adjustable (in height) lounge chair in very good vintage condition with very nice patina to the armrests and leather, severe architectural shape and a really comfortable seat.
Mucchi was painter, architect and designer and he is known more for his paintings during the Italian avant-garde movement, this particular furniture piece have gone onto to become modern classics. One can easily see the influence of the Bauhaus period on this piece with its rectilinear shape and use of tubular steel.
